Central Park Zoo participates in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plan (SSP).  The mission of an SSP program is to cooperatively manage threatened or endangered species populations in a controlled environment.

Unfortunately for Mary - an endangered Red Panda - "the clock is tickin'," and the zoo has delivered her a charming mate (George) just in time.

But Mary isn't an ordinary red panda in heat.  She's looking for something more than your average stud...
