Girlhood
A SONG CYCLE - CPA THEATRICALS
In collaboration with composer Dylan MarcAurele, Deborah was commissioned to write three songs for CPA Theatricals' original song-cycle, Girlhood. The show is comprised of songs written by multiple composing teams.
Featuring a large, mostly female cast, Girlhood follows the lives of several girls from the beginning of middle school to the end of high school. Based on interviews, it documents the real struggles and joys young women face as they maneuver their way through school and life.
Girlhood premiered at Bravo Performing Arts in June 2019, directed by Tina Reynolds.
